Fitness Testing

Benchmark Training Zones
All our training plans start with a thorough assessment of your fitness, goals, and availability. Assessing your fitness consists of measuring at least one critical parameter, FTP — or Functional Threshold Power or Pace. FTP is the power or pace that you can sustain for an hour. The testing is usually performed on a shorter-duration test using one of the following protocols:
- Cyclists do a CP20 FTP test (Critical Power 20 min Functional Threshold Power)
- Runners do a 5 KM FTP test (Critical Pace 5 KM Functional Threshold Pace)
- Optimal re-testing happens every 8 weeks, to properly readjust your training zones.
